I realized I had a knack for writing one dreadful day in third grade, the day that I first declared my love for a boy. His name was Kevin, and at that time he was the great love of my life.
On that horrible morning, our teacher had somehow intercepted my note intended for my eight year-old beau. It was a sappy but sincere note that began with "Kevin, I think of you in the morning, when the dew from the grass glistens on the toes of my tennis shoes..."
Of course, she read it to everyone, loudly and mockingly. Words meant just for him filled the whole classroom—words that were changed from something innocent and hopeful into something that was intended to shame.
I was mortified.
But when the teacher finished, a couple of kids applauded. I perked up a little. Some kids LIKED what I wrote—and they were BOYS.
Perhaps this writing thing was a handy talent to have.
That's when I learned the true power of words. Words could overcome a difficult situation and if they were used well, words could charm.
I've never forgotten that lesson and it's one reason why I love the art of writing.

Chat GPT?
Nope. When we write your content, it’s never written by AI.
Why? For a couple of reasons…
Almost all magazines and reputable publishers have announced that they don’t want AI-generated content in their articles or books. Many magazines have announced that if a writer uses AI content in their articles, they’ll be blacklisted—not just for that article but for ALL future writing.
And although some book publishers have announced they’ll allow a small percentage of AI content in a book, that’s not what we do.
We write everything. All content is guaranteed to be unique and original, written by humans who love the craft of writing.
So when we write your book or article and it’s submitted it to a publisher or magazine, you won’t have to worry about it being rejected for using Chat GPT or AI.
Another reason is that we don’t think it’s ethical. AI generators use content created by real writers to generate its writing. That’s stealing—aka in writer’s terms as plagiarism. It’s wrong.
AND it’s bad writing. AI generators write with a false confidence to an audience that it has no familiarity with. Add in the fact that the writing is often filled with errors, clichés, and meaningless filler, there is also no layering of emotion, no nuance–it’s very flat in tone. As Gertrude Stein said, “there is no there there.” Readers intuitively sense the lack of genuine connection and that lack of engagement can make AI writing painful to read.
Finally, there’s no reason for us to write your content with Chat GPT or any other AI.
